PRIDE: Queer Futures
An evening of community with Terence Edgerson in conversation with Quil Lemons.
About the Event
Be inspired by the personal stories of two queer individuals who have made an impact in New York City and around the world including Ali Forney Award winner Terence Edgerson and celebrated photographer, Quil Lemons.
This event will allow queer youth to explore the transformative power of art as a means of self-expression and personal discovery and as a powerful tool for communication, healing, and understanding the diverse experiences within the queer community.
Quil Lemons is a New York based photographer, originally hailing from Philadelphia. His visual language is distinct and it interrogates ideas around masculinity, family, queerness, race and beauty. Quil’s work dances the line between the fantastic and realistic, resulting in disruptive images that feel like pure imagination, while simultaneously grounding us in references to our current cultural climate.
His images can be found in publications such as Allure, Garage, i-D, Shadowplay, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Variety, W, with clients including Burberry, Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Guess, Gucci, Moncler, Nike, Nordstrom, SSense and Valentino.
All event tickets include museum admission to experience our exhibitions on view: Terry O’Neill, Stars, Prix Pictet: Fire, and Listen Until You Hear.
